Cisco School-Cisco, Georgia

This two-room school was built in the early 1920s. It served the community of Cisco until the 1950s when it consolidated with another local school. A history of Murray County schools is maintained by the Murray County Museum.

Amity School-Lincolnton, Georgia

Completed in 1904, the Amity School is outside of Lincolntom, Georgia. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Whitworth School-Gumlog, Georgia

The Whitworth School was built circa 1900.

The Mystery of the Vernon Johnson School-Wilkinson County, Georgia

This school is identified as the Vernon Johnson School on the Georgia Genealogy Trails, but I question if it is the school in the black-and-white photo below. The heights of the buildings are quite different. If it is the same building, when was the roofline dropped and how?

I’ve also seen the black-and-white image identified as the Clear Creek School, but I believe that was mislabeled.

Edge Hill School-Glascock County, Georgia

Edge Hill is a crossroads community in Glasscock County. I have yet to determine location of this Rosenwald school.

Gillis Springs Colored School-Treutlen County, Georgia

Gillis Springs is a small community in Treutlen County. I have yet to determine where this Rosenwald School was located.
