Greenwood Baptist Church-Lincoln County, Georgia

Organized in 1772, the Greenwood Baptist Church is one of the oldest in the state of Georgia. Originally known as Upton Creek Baptist Church, they changed their name when it was decided to move the congregation into a wooded area. The church was completed by 1812.

Parker-Dozier-Bryant House-Lincoln County, Georgia

This plantation plain is believed to have been built in 1854.

Amity School-Lincolnton, Georgia

Completed in 1904, the Amity School is outside of Lincolntom, Georgia. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Harmony Baptist Church-Lincoln County, Georgia

I am currently unable to locate information on the church. The congregation was founded in 1874.

Smith Chapel and School-Lincoln County, Georgia

Located approximately two miles down a dirt road is the Smith Chapel and School. The scene above sits on the front of the church as a greeting for anyone who enters. Founded in 1911, there isn’t much know about the congregation.

The photo isn’t the best, but if you look closely, the pews look to be old bus seats.

Boonshill Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Tennessee

Petersburg, Lincoln County

Founded as the New Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church prior to 1850, the church changes it’s name to Boonshill in 1949. It’s located on top of a mountain in a picturesque area of Tennessee.
