Mt. Zion School-Florence County, South Carolina

Originally known as the Mt. Zion Rosenwald Colored School, the Mt. Zion School was built in 1925 in Florence County, South Carolina. It’s a traditional two-teacher type school. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Goodwill Parochial School-Mayesville, South Carolina

Goodwill Parochial School was built in 1890 to educate Black schoolchildren in Sumter County, South Carolina. The Presbyterian Church, USA funded it until 1933. It was in use until 1960.

It was put on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Another school funded by the Presbyterian Church was Boggs Academy in Keysville, Georgia.

Great Branch Teacherage-Orangeburg County, South Carolina

Built as part of the Great Branch School complex, the Great Branch Teacherage provided housing for the teachers who worked at the school. The complex was built in 1924. The Rosenwald building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Starr High School-Turin, Georgia

The school used to stand at the intersection of Georgia Highways 54 and 16 between Sharpsburg and Turin. It opened in 1919 and closed in 1954.
