Arthur Jett graduated from Morehouse College and then attended Chicago Technical College to study architecture. He taught in Mississippi and Atlanta. He was employed by Security Construction Company, where he served as a foreman at Henry Grady Homes and Naval hospitals.
He formed the Triangular Drafting Company in 1949. Their first project was building this Streamline Moderne home on Fountain Drive in the Just Us neighborhood, a historic Black neighborhood in Northwest Atlanta.
Since its construction, the home has been continuously inhabited by a member of the Jett family.
