This is oldest known home in Morgan County, Georgia. It was built around 1805. This plantation plain is on remarkably well-maintained land. I understand there is a plan to stabilize and save the home.

This home place photo is perfect southern vernacular architecture. I-houses are my favorite of that day!
I hope that it is being saved. It’s such a neat looking house shame for it to be torn down or destruction by neglect.!
I just learned that there’s actually a home in Morgan County that’s older than this one. The Stovall-McIntyre home was built in 1789 and is remarkably well preserved.
