Built in 1921, this three-teacher type school is located in Beaufort County, North Carolina. It was in use until 1956 and now serves as a community center. It was put on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Ware Creek Missionary Baptist Church-Blounts Creek, North Carolina
My assumption is that this church started out as your traditional center gable and tower seen in many rural areas. Later the church wrapped it in brick and added mid-century modern stained glass windows.
Canetuck Rosenwald School-Currie, North Carolina
The Canetuck School was built in Pender County, North Carolina near Currie. The two-teacher type school was built in 1922 in an historic Black community known as Canetuck. It was one of fifteen Rosenwald schools built in Pender County. The school stayed open until 1958.
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2018.
Corinth Church-Pender County, North Carolina

James Graham Kenan Mausoleum-Wilmington, North Carolina
This is the stately plot of the Kenan family. Outside of the mausoleum, there are family members buried in the large circular plot. It is located in the Oakdale Cemetery. The winged cherub at the top of the mausoleum represents innocence.
Gregory Congregational United Church of Christ-Wilmington, North Carolina
The Gothic Revival Church was completed in 1881. Built by S. B. Weston, this church was funded by philanthropist by Samuel Williston for the American Missionary Association’s efforts. The organization sent school teachers to teach Black students to become teachers. At one point, there was a school next to the church.
