I assume the building on the right was a lodge and, perhaps, a school.
Henry A. Wise owned a plantation not far from the cemetery. Enclosed by a brick wall, burials range from the 1600s to 2017.
The congregation was established in 1868, making it one of the first Black congregations on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
