Lincoln School-Pikeville, Tennessee

Built in 1925, the Lincoln School is one of the few remaining Rosenwald Schools in Tennessee. The school educated children in K through 8th grade until 1965.

It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Mt. Sinai School, Alabama

Autauga County

In 1919, Anthony Townsend donated 3 acres of land to start this Rosenwald School in the county. The architect was W.A. Hazel. It remained open until 1967 once integration happened. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. It is the last known Rosenwald still standing in the county.

Tankersley School, Alabama

Hope Hull, Montgomery County

Built in 1923, the Tankersley School is a two-teacher type Rosenwald school located in Hope Hull, Alabama. It was one of fourteen Rosenwald schools built in Montgomery County. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Merritt School-Midway, Alabama

Bullock County

Built in 1920, the Merritt School is a two-teacher type Rosenwald school built in Midway, Alabama. It originally cost $2600 to build on land donated by a local citizen. The school expanded twice in the early 20th Century. It was put on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Hannah Rosenwald School, South Carolina

South Carolina

The Hannah Rosenwald School is affiliated with the Hannah AME Church in Newberry, South Carolina. It is a three-teacher school that was built in 1924. It was originally known as the Utopia School, named for the local community where it was built. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Hope Rosenwald School-Newberry County, South Carolina

Built in 1925 for $2,200, the Hope School located in Pomaria, South Carolina is a two-teacher plan school. The school was open until 1954, but then it was closed after the consolidation of public schools. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
